Jitender Bansal

Jitender Bansal, the Senior Director, Accounting and Finance of Room to Read India, provides strategic and operational direction to the organization's financial, legal, audit, and donor management affairs. He is passionate about delivering innovative and unique yet simple solutions to diverse problems. He plays a pivotal role in partnering with the senior leadership team to enhance quality programming and build capacity in strategic decision-making and operations.

Jitender has diverse experience of more than 20 years spread across public, private, and development sectors. He worked with Air India for more than 13 years in finance and audit functions. Prior to Room to Read, Jitender worked with CIMMYT (an agri-based international non-profit), where he led the finance function to strengthen the internal control systems and deliver strategic direction in the financial domain. As an audit lead, he helped the organization restructure the audit strategy by applying best practices, identifying potential cost reduction and revenue-enhancing avenues, preparing a process risk inventory by reviewing significant business processes, and helping develop robust systems and processes.

He is a qualified Chartered Accountant and holds a post-graduation degree in business management from the Faculty of Management Studies, Delhi.
